I can play regular guitar pretty well, but they only have bass guitars in band. I would like to know if that would give me an advantage to being able to learn easier or if that would make it more complicated. I understand different people learn different ways, but how was it for you and what’s your opinion?
One of my friends plays 4 string electric bass, and he said he might teach me. Should I look anything up or do anythig to prepare for learning bass?

I was just wondering, because I have an interest in it, I can’t sing or anything, so it would just be for fun, not trying to make a career out of it, but I was just wondering for any of you that might play guitar, I would love to pick it up as a hobby, but I can’t read music currently, and I have a bad habit of not sticking with things, as I quit the piano, and I can’t afford lessons, so is it possible to teach yourself with books and videos and such, 10 points to best info. Thanks

So I’ve been playing violin for about… this would be my 6th year. I’ve suddenly had this feeling of wanting to play acoustic guitar, lol, probably because of the music I listen to all the time =O
But I was wondering if it would be hard to teach my self (through books, some friends possibly, online resources) to learn acoustic guitar. My friend told me it would be a lot easier for a violin player. You think so? =O
