yeah, the one and the same. it’s cool (for me) you remembered. i have more videos that you will find at my my.space page. do a search on jakekellyonguitar. there’s also some of my own quirky music there.

cheers,

jake

bayted9 @ 6:45 pm

Jake Kelly! Didn’t you used to be on Gary Allan’s band?! I remmeber Gary saying.. “Jake Kelly on the guitar….!”.. and you’d break away with a solo (perhaps, the song Runaway?).. :-)

firsthunt4blood @ 7:17 pm

I JUST DIED!

tacosandbeerandbeer @ 7:29 pm

try putting your thumb on the center of the back of the neck, that should help your fingers arch more so just the fingertips touch the string. i know that not how i held the guitar in the video, but i learned with bad technique. all the best, jake

tacosandbeerandbeer @ 7:31 pm

hi, i’m jake, the guy that did this video. just to clear things up somewhat, there are several ways to finger the g chord (and every other chord). the reason i choose this fingering for the video is for an ease of transition to the variation of the c chord in the second video of this series, which keeps the third and fourth finger in exactly the same position (as an anchor) and moves the 1st and 2nd fingers to the next higher string. hope this helps.

yoyorissa @ 7:45 pm

yea i was wonderin about that…i don’t use my 4th either.

JonasBrothersfanSam @ 8:40 pm

i cant do it, but im getting lessons soon anyways, so, doesn’t matter.
