I’m wanting to buy an electric guitar, and I know you need a guitar (duh) and an amp, but what else should i get? I hear about petals and other stuff, but what do they do? Help appreciated

a distortion is something u connect to a amp that make the sound more heavy
So….are you gonna teach us how to play them or just talk about how great they are?
I think that’s a good idea, I watched a lot of videos before getting my bass, and it helps you learn what to do and what not to do before getting the bad habits.
Yeah I know. I’m just watching these videos as a helper/beginner kind of thing. I don’t have a guitar yet and this just helps me for when i do get one.

You should take lessons not watch the videos. Not to be insulting but some of these guys don’t know what they’re talking about.
Distortion is the buzzing effect that gives your tone that rock n’ roll sound. You can use the gain on your amp. Turn it up all the way to get the dirtiest effect on it.

Haha, ur fingers hurt from keeping the strings pushed down and i got my dark blue and white Pearl but i dnt think it have it tuned right :S
Mine don’t hurt that’s probably cuz you guys don’t have a guitar pick if you get one it won’t hurt at all but it still might hurt just not as much. My electric guitar is a FENDER red & white electric guitar it’s really awesome. It came with a dvd,strap,15 watt amp,automatic guitar tuner,3 guitar picks,and cords for the amp.

blues solo or metal? or were you like me n just improvised something before even learning scales? iv been playing 4 awhile now but 1st day i could make up cool solos
dude i just got mine to day to and i dont mean to brag but i can play a 10 min solo (i want to cut my fingers off tho it hurts and my big bro said u will get used to ur fingers hurting
